Yes. Engineered oak is generally well suited to underfloor heating thanks to its layered construction, which provides better dimensional stability than solid wood. Always check the specific product data sheet for maximum surface temperature limits — most products work comfortably up to 27°C. Engineered oak has a real oak wear layer bonded over a plywood or HDF core, giving it better moisture resistance and stability in centrally heated homes. Solid oak is a single piece of timber — it can be sanded more times over its lifetime but is more sensitive to humidity changes. For most homes, engineered oak offers the best balance of appearance and practical performance.
